    Claro Platter

I generally don't post pictures on multiple websites, but I know that one of the moderators has gone into a self imposed hermit like existence, and wanted him to see this.

    16.25" dia x 2.5" thick.

MY GOSH!!!!!! Dale, that is an unbelievable piece of Claro, and you are right - I am lusting at this very moment! Beautiful work, too, but I would have to be honest - the wood is what takes the show and shadows your customary wonderful work on platters.

BTW, Dale does a great demo on platters (among other things - metal spinning, etc.) and it is well worth seeing if you get the chance.

Thanks, Dale, for posting this on SMC - I would not have seen it otherwise.

That is a BIG and BEAUTIFUL piece of wood. I almost feel like saying that stuff doesn't grow on trees anymore.

Isn't it too close to Christmas to be taunting someone with gorgeous wood? No? Ok... Just checking.

    Nicely done, Dale!

That is a very spectacular piece of walnut and your part in it is pretty cool also. Your layout to capture the feather is perfect.
