Lightbulb Donating to Sawmill Creek - Paypal Challenge - SUCCESS!!!

NOTE: Read to THIRD post for my paypal challenge...

    --

How the heck does one donate to SMC?

I was reading through the recent post about the server bandwidth problems and noticed remarks about "already being able to donate to SMC"...

Well, I searched far and wide, including the forums, and couldn't find a thing. So I figured others would want to know and I should ask.

Assuming it's easy to donate to SMC, I think a lot of people would be interested in chipping in a couple of bucks.

Paul, I did post the information in the other thread, but I guess that you missed it. Here it is again:

    You send a cheque to:

    Hampton Roads Online
    1213H George Washington Memorial Highway
    Yorktown, VA 23693

and write on the cheque that it is a donation to the operation of the Saw Mill Creek website.

Sorry for missing it in the other post.

Really, you're shooting yourself in the foot by not accepting some variety of online payment. I can understand not wanting to go to the hassle of setting up your own Credit Cards system, but PayPal is trivial.

    Hehe...

    Paypal Challenge

    To the Creek Staff:
Setup paypal with an email address of something like "donations@sawmillcreek.org" and I'll donate $30 to it. I know that's not much, but it's the most I can give without my frugal wife getting crabby.
    To my fellow Creekers:
Pledge, via post to this thread, that if the creek staff sets up Paypal, then you'll donate $X dollars to it.
I apologize for being pushy or a pain in the anything, but I really think a paypal account and a simple "Donate" link somewhere in the SMC layout would result in good stuff.

    All,

There is a new "donate" link in the menu bar.
Enter the donation "quantity" x $1.00

You will be redirected to a page on Hampton Roads Online's secure server.

    Ask and Ye Shall Receive

I'd be interested in seeing how this bright idea is working. I'd remind Creekers that the expenses are ongoing; so the donations need to be, also.
