Excellent work, Scott. You seem to have a knack for these spinny things!

Very petite!! Scott, this is a beautifully done piece, and I like your "signature" finial.

  5. Another beauty Scott.........you are getting that finial stylized to the point it is becoming recognized as yours.

Well done Scott! It's a beauty. The finial is fantastic. Excellent photo too.

great piece of wood and well done on the form too

its probably just me (finials aren't exactly my thing) the finial tends to distract my attention from the HF or more accurately it raises the focus of my eye to a point above the HF like i said its probably just me and the opinion is worth exactly what it cost you

Form is awesome! Wood is awesome. Finial on this one is a bit heavy for my tastes. On your rosewood piece, the finial is much more balanced with the form.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I really wanted to go thinner on this finial but the black walnut didn't respond well enough to think it would survive thinner. So it was a trade off to get the color of the walnut.

Great job on the finial especially with walnut. I would hate to make a living making walnut finials, I love walnut fora lot of things, but finials is not one of them. The HF body is superb, love the black ash.
