Mom had a dining room chair that had a broken spindle. "Can you fix this?". I said I will try. Spindle's tenons were both broken off in the chair's legs. I had some old white oak sitting around the shop, time to fire up the lathe for the first time in almost two years.SDC11908.jpgSDC11911.jpgSDC11912.jpgSDC11915.jpgLathe started with a squeal, sprayed that away. That big block of oak in the first picture supplied the blank. The last picture shows the finished spindle back on the chair. Took two tries to get the colour match. Just an old, old Craftsman 5 speed lathe.
