    Basketball "holder" ideas?

I have a lady who wants ten stands or holders for basketballs. She is envisioning a cup of some sort that the ball can be halfway inside of, because the last stands she had (that she made) were too easily dismantled/knocked over.

Anyone ever heard of stands for basketballs? I've never seen one so we're kind of in the dark on it.

These stands will be a sort of centerpiece on a table.

    Some Ideas

Cut out a finger joint box using box-it or other programs listed in earlier posts. You could use ply wood or colored acrylic to match the team colors. Turn box over and cut hole for ball to sit down in.

Cut a circular donut and use some standoffs to support above table. Maybe even cut a plate to support bottomg of standoffs.

This is something I designed a while back. Initially I cut it from acrylic & spayed it with Krylon Fusion, then client decided
to go with .5" Stainless Steel.
