Thread: What are your favorite wood turning videos?

  1. #1

Question What are your favorite wood turning videos?

I new to turing and have taken some classes and will join a turners club. I've also gotten a few videos from the library. Most are good though some are more advanced than I'm ready for.

What are your favorite videos, I see lot's of them out there to buy but don't know what to spend money on?

What do you like and why?

I haven't seen too many that I didn't like, but Clewes and Mahoney are my favorites. Grumbine's first DVD is worth watching for bowl basics, but I didn't really care for his second video. I enjoy Raffan's work, but he moves at warp speed while turning... Maybe not the best choice for a beginner. My take... Watch all you can for free(library and borrowing) then buy what you can't get your hands on for free.

I also like the Clewes videos and the Mahoney ones that I've seen. Raffan's Turning Wood is available as a weeks rental from Amazon, costs $1.99. Lacer's skew videos are also pretty good.
