Are FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Panels) able to be cut and engraved with a laser?

    Thanks,

    Hey Larry,
Not sure how yours will react but my 60 watt engraved it nice but charcoal city when trying to cut it. I guess it is the glass and resin that chars the edges. tried several options with power and speed, multiple passes at a low power low speed and high power at a high speed. None worked satisfactory. I passed on using the laser, which would have been a nice job, quoted using the CNC which increased the price and I missed it but they will keep my name on file if they have a different material job. I was also told that you will need to clean your laser frequently because the fumes will coat your interior and may cause issues later if not cleaned well.
    Have a Blessed day,
