Thread: What we did this weekend.

    What we did this weekend.

We, mostly a machinist and me doing grunt work actually, made Jet Mini tailstock clamp blocks to Mr Outtens design.

Wow, what a difference. And what a LOT of work.

    But it sure holds tight.

    I'll fix that soon.

The really wonderful part is that I didn't A) cut myself on the shavings. and B) slip on the floor covered with cutting oil.

They look great. my buddy is also a machinest and I have a Jet 1236 that has a bit of a creepy tailstock. What did you change on the new part? The thickness? I'd love to know. Charlie's gonna have some work to do....
I could cry for the time I've wasted, but thats a waste of time and tears.

    1/2" thick. 1/4" deep. Threaded M10x1.5

    2" long x 1.875 wide.

Funny, my friend Charlie was telling me the other day that he had the same issues with his 1236. I've got to drop by his house and do some measuring.

If you are planning on making a batch for the 1236 I'd buy one from you.

I'll look into it. I'll get by Charlies and do the measurements this week.

But we have a refueling coming up and that means a few weeks of noon to midnite 7 days a week.

    I'll let you know.
