Thread: Stray trailing dots

    Question Stray trailing dots

Hello everyone... just got my 2nd hand laser set up, and having an interesting issue when engraving raster images.

I'm on CorelDraw 9, and when I use a raster image, I end up with a series of small trailing dots that run from the image to the edge of the piece. I'm not getting this problem on the left-hand side of any of my images, so I don't think it's a non-white background issue... I don't have a clue what could be causing this problem.

    Welcome to Sawmill Creek.
It sounds like it could be a tickle issue. It will help us out if you indicate what laser you have.
I design, engineer and program all sorts of things.

Oh, and I use Adobe Illustrator with an Epilog Mini.

It sounds like a leak. Have you contacted Epilog tech support?

Spent an hour troubleshooting last night, and realized that the problem was only happening in CorelDraw. Dug around in the archives here, and sure enough, there was a CMYK color profile set for the engraver. Disabled that, and it seems to be working just fine now.

    Thanks!

Very interesting--hadn't heard of that creating the problem you described before.
