    Walnut bowl

I have a couple of days off this week, so bare with me. 8 1/2" x 3" bowl. I think that I should have turned it thinner. Looks a bit chunky.

You can't beat a beautifully turned walnut bowl and that's just what this is. Thinner? Maybe but it's fine as is and will prove to be much more durable in use than a thin walled bowl.

Nice work, Deane. Personally, I think the thicker walls fit the shape nicely. What did you use for the finish?

Nice piece of wood. The rounded edges on the lip seem to help hide any thickness. I like it. Well done and nice finish.

I like it. I tend to turn mine a little thicker too just because they are usually put to work right away. Finish looks really nice on this one.

It does not look clunky to me. Very nice wood and form.

I'm liking it the way it is. Beautiful piece of wood and bowl.

The nice thing about a walnut bowl is how good stuff looks in it. I think your thickness says, "Use me for anything"....and that is a good thing. The character of the wood is great and the form is right on. Nice piece.

I like it! My favorite one is thick enough for 2 or 3 thin ones!
