    Sports card boxes

My boys and I completed our first group woodworking project -- sports card storage boxes. Made of ash with 1/4" sides, 3/16" bottom, and a 3/4" rabbeted top for a snug fit. Splines are walnut. Finished with a coat of orange shellac. The boys did the glue up, all sanding, and wiped on the finish. It was a lot of fun, and it sure beats those cardboard boxes that I still have my cards in.

Pretty darn cool!! Those smiles say it all and I'll bet there are a few more projects with dad in their future. Good job!

Looks like two really proud boys with great looking boxes that will be a treasure to them forever. Take it from a guy whose grandsons are getting close to the teen years: they grow up fast. Enjoy them, spend time with them and love them every chance you get.
