Thread: General Industrial Supply, good service!

Thumbs up General Industrial Supply, good service!

I have purchased several jet and powermatic tools from General Industrial Supply in Nashville over the past year. Some were new, but many were scratch and dent. I had a problem with my Jet JDP-17FSE drill press last week. Something went out in the moter. I have had the drill press for about 6 months, and the S/D tools only come with a one month warrenty. When I called GIS the operater told me its was out of warrenty, but I talked with Rick (owner) and he said bring it up and he would fix it for me for free. So I took it to Nashville on Tuesday. Instead of geting it fixed, he let me trade it in on a brand new JDP-17MF and pay the difference of what I had paid for the other press. Rick has always giving me good service and backed up what he sells.

I agree I have purchased a 14" Jet Bandsaw, 64A Powermatic Tablesaw, Jet 12" Planer and Powermatic 6" Jointer. I have been very happy with the tools and General Industrial Supply provides great service. In more cases then not there scatch& dent is almost as good as new. ( I've saved some major bucks) and that makes the LOML very happy.

I've heard this on other forums as well. Might just make the trip over that way one of these days. I hear there's a few other things to see and do in Nashville as well.

    Absolutely right

Both my Son and I have purchased a LOT of both new and S&D stuff from General. Rick is a nice guy and really bends over backwards to help his customers.
