    Decorated Cedar Bowl

I got a bunch of cedar a while back and this is the first finished turning from the score. I am going to give this to the fella who graciously gave me the cedar.

8 1/2" dia X 3" tall. Decorated with the Nova Ornamental Turner unit and topped off with Tung Oil Finish.

    Comments and critiques are welcome!

No, it's not thin enough yet.

Scott, I like this one much, much better than the box! Very nice treatment on the rim. Looks like a sub-vortex for you!

Very well done. With so many possibilities available that the OT can do, it's gotta be hard deciding what embelishments to choose. This one looks just right.

Scott that is a nice looking bowl. I do like the OT treatment on the rim.

Very nice bowl Scott! Love the wood and also really like your detail work! Very clean and not overly ornate! The recipient is going to love it!

    Scott,

This just isn't fair. Now you are going to raise the bar that much higher for the next turning contest!

Nice subtle details that really add a lot to the bowl....

It was handed off to the new owner, today. He was thrilled and caught off guard. He didn't know that he was getting a gift. The smile on his face was worth the time involved.

Very cool! I love the embellishment, and the form is great too. I'm looking forward to seeing where you go with this ornamental unit.
