That's pretty cool. I should post my picture of my desktop that I did on the laser. I took a big piece of plywood and made myself a larger top for my desk with grooves cut out to hold the cue cases that are always leaning against it. My laser is 120x80cm and we cut the piece in two jobs.
These could be done in layers and laminated with a nice veneer on the top piece. That would make them more stable.
I don't remember where I saw it but someone in Los Angeles was doing furniture using a lot of laser cut and engraved parts.
