I had one request for a cutting board from my Sister-in-law. That one board somehow morphed into five boards - one for each of my and my wife's siblings for Christmas. Each board contains some combination of the following species, one has them all:
-Oak
-Maple
-Walnut
-Osage Orange
-Reclaimed Heart Pine
-Hickory
All are finished with four coats of wiped on General Salad Bowl Finish. I'll tell 'ya, it's so fun to see how the checker board ones will come out; it's like a little surprise when you cut the pieces across the grain...you never know what you're going to get!
