    Good Book on chairmaking?

I am Interested in hearing others opinions on sources of information on chair making. mainly dining chairs. I have a chance at a commission for a kitchen set and would like to look into different chair types and construction methods. I personally think a woven seat would suit the client and the style they are interested in, however I would like to gain some knowledge on shaped wood seats.

I am interested in moth hand and power methods.
    Books, blogs, pod casts...

    Thanks

For a nice primer on all different kinds, I like Tauton's Designing and Building Chairs. It has a variety of projects from shaker tape seats to carved seats and bandsawn glued up seats, stick chairs with turned parts and laminated legs... It was really useful in a furniture design class I took in college, our final project was designing and building a chair.

Take a look at "Chairmaking Simplified" by Kerry Pierce. It has a good section on woven seats.

Of the books I've seen, I found Jeff Miller's chair book to be the best for someone new to chairs. I used it and really liked it (not so much the designs but it got me going)

Drew Langsner's Chairmaking Workshop hands down:

Also great are John Brown's Welsh Stick Chairs:

Ron Clarkson's Making Classic Chairs is very detailed. It covers making a Chippendale style chair, has good explanations, and lots of photos. The techniques and procedures can be easily adapted to other styles of chairs.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I bookmarked all of them and will be keeping my eye out for some of the ones that are out of print and $100+ on the amazon marketplace. EEK*
