Thread: outdoor material for tags?

    outdoor material for tags?

Wondering what options I have for outdoor material...need to make tags to go on wood figures that will be outside.
Tags will have company information...I know that metalgraph is for outdoor use and anodized tags, but would the laserable aluminum work for outside?
Wood would possible work with a good sealer...any other suggestions?

Thanks as always for your great advice!

    Linda,

The laserable aluminum works OK for outside dog tags.

    Most metals scratch easily,

I have gotten small marble a bit larger than a business card from Lasersketch.

I have used outdoor plastic from Rowmark, has a slight pebble finish.
Takes a couple passes to etch and the laser needs to be cleaned afterwords. Lot of small particulate from the burn.

How about Corian? It is very durable and is easy to laser or rotary engrave and then paint fill. Lots of color options as well.
