Ideas for portable sharpening station.

I sharpen my gouges up in the shop.I carve in the house.When i want to power strop an edge on my tools, i have to go up to my shop.I have various shaped stones, but i really only want to strop with rubbing compound.Any ideas for a small[i have a dremel] portable sharpening station, for dirt cheap? thanks rob

Not sure what other tools you have, but a simple wheel with compound , chucked in a cordless drill would work. Not sure either what the reason for having to have power as a strop, why not just use a piece of wood, attach some leather and put compound on that. It has worked for years and is effective. Cheap too. Even using a piece of soft wood with compound on it works great. A manual strop such as these take little effort to use.
