Here's the inlay build. 7 pieces of material stacked & glued together.
Then cut into 30 degree triangles.
Then a test fit for accuracy.
The glue up for 1/2 of the inlay.
Here's the results.
again though, I have to thank Jameel for this method.

Stunning! Great choice of woods. I really like the corners & inlay.
All I can say on that box is WOW! I really really love it. That makes me want to learn to build boxes.
Bill, your craftsmanship and detail are amazing!! Your boxes are truly functional art.
BEAUTIFUL, I'm impressed with all of your work. What finish did you apply to this box?
Thank you guys, you truly inspire me as well. The finish is Maclac lacquer. I keep adding coats and blocking it back until it fills the grain. Check out the other one I just posted too. It's more of a burl that a curl.

I can't take credit for the technique used for making the corners. That goes to a wonderful member here, Jameel Abrahm. He uses this technique in the build of his absolutely incredible Oud's. If you can find his step by step build of an Oud. It's incredibly informative.

Wow! That's an awesome jewelry box. What did you use for the finish?
