    Question Summit air assist?

I'm getting a little flame that scorches the 3mm masonite I've been using.

Did the Summit have any air assist option? Looking around, I can't find any reference to air assist on the Summit. Mine's from 1994.

Looking for more info on air assist in general, I've found homemade contraptions that surround the beam to focus air on the laser spot, but rigging up a hose to the side seems easier if I were to embark on more contraptioneering...

Or should I just not worry about it?

The summit had no options for air assist. There are some homemade ones on here, just gonna have to search through them.

Have you tried masking the material, I' used everything from vinyl tranfser taper to masking tape..

Thanks Greg! I'll try masking tape next time I cut. I'm also taking measurements of the innards and sketching out homemade air assist ideas based on what I've seen.
