    Engraving Aluminum Batons

    Hello,
I have a order for 500 batons to be engraved with 3 lines of text each 1/3 around the dia. of the baton, same ones as used in track.
Anyway they are silver aluminum and I used Cermark on it but it didnt engrave black like it does on other metals I have marked but instead comes out a gray/green look to it.
Is there something I need to do different? Use other marking compound.
    Any help would be great.

    Thanks,
    Curt

My experience is that you get a grey or greenish mark if you apply the cermark thinly. I do it on purpose when I want different tones on a job. Try applying the cermark evenly but with a bit more coverage. An airbrush is best.

    Hope this helps, dee
