    Funniest name

    For irony, I offer

    Los Angeles

For the classic comedy name (thanks to Bugs Bunny)

    Walla Walla, Washinton

    Thumbs up

I have visited Hell, Norway. Once on a big training exercise, I think I was in West Bum**** Egypt.

I think that is the unofficial name for Vancouver.

Actually, Jim, it's "Lottawatta Road" and it's near Lake Eufala - I just drove over the causeway across the lake this past Tuesday.

Of course, people tend to call it "T or C".
Do you know how TorC got its name?

Back in 1950, when Ralph Edwards had the television show, he announced that he would air the program from the first town that renamed itself after the show. Hot Springs, NM, won the honor. Edwards visited the town during the first weekend of May for the next fifty years. This event was called "Fiesta" and included a beauty contest, a parade, and a stage show. The city still celebrates Fiesta each year on the first weekend of May. The parade generally features area celebrities such as the Hatch Chile Queen. Fiesta also features a dance in Ralph Edwards Park. (Thanks, Wikipedia).

The town still has hot springs, and bills itself as a "spa town" and a resort--it's on the banks of Elephant Butte Lake, formed by damming the Rio Grande.
