    First Bottle Stoppers . . .

I purchased some bottle stopper and pen kits from Berea (through them and Woodcraft) a couple of years ago; with the press of real work, kids, wife and other daily life required's, I just now got around to turning my first bottle stopeprs.

Credit to Jesse Wetherhold for the wood and the design of the "top-hat" style, from which I flagrantly copied

Also to Ed Davidson "YoYo Spin" who has a great website, appears frequently on IAP and has helped me with his fantastic, free online tutorials.

    All comments welcomed.

    Thanks for looking.

Nice looking pair of stoppers, they look better than my first ones. Are they cocobolo?

    Fine set of stoppers Jeff...
I got a bunch of cocobolo from Jesse last year. Am very happy with it.

Jeff, those are really sharp looking! I love the shape (even if one of them might not be "original"), and the cocobolo is hard to beat for this application - beautifully finished.

    Thank you

Thanks for all of the complimentary comments guys . . . it keeps we hobbyists in the game.

The wood is cocobolo and the finish mylands 3-part. First time I've used that finish and it is far deeper than I'd ever have imagined. My pictures don't do the real thing justice.

Not sure how it'll hold up . . . fine I guess if it's not fondled everyday

Very nice job for firsts, Jeff. Cocobolo is very pretty. Makes me realize I need to get into the sticks I bought from Jess.
Where did I put that tape measure...
