    It snowed here today

Believe me this is turning related. I decided to put my beale buffing system in my newly finished, after 23 years, entryway mudroom work table. WRONG move. Long story short,by the time I had prepared two buffs and when the ceiling fan got done, there IS,I repeat IS cotton fuzz and string all over the house. I have now moved the buffer to the shop and almost cleaned up the mess.
The other half is laughing so I think I am safe. A word to the wise, don't do as I did, keep it outside the house.

I feel your pain. That's a very messy system until it's conditioned. Glad you can laugh about it

clean-up might take 6 months unless you moved everything out of the shop and vacuum the shop/ all tools need a strong wind to remove the fuzz/ I not talking about the policemen either

Ray, I would be happy if it were my shop. No, this is the house. We have a very open floor plan and I am picking this stuff up clear in the kitchen. I will be hearing about this and cleaning the fines up for a year . Oh butt she loves me.

Charlie - I've spent the last 2 full days buffing and still have one more day to get caught up. I have a tendency to put a turning on a rack for it to cure and then will come back to it and buff it out. The dates on most of the bowls are 2008! So I managed to accumulate a few and finally decided to quit procrastinating and get it done.

Point of all that is even with well seasoned buffs - you will get strings and a fine dust that will settle everywhere! Sounds like moving your buffing operation out to your shop was a wise decision!

I agree with Steve. Don't think just because they are seasoned you are out of the woods. Don't ask how I know this.

I just bought two of the Beal buff systems. (delivered yesterday) The "fit-on-the-lathe" version and the three inside-the-bowl buffs. Now someone is saying I have to change my furnace filters every time I use it. Mmmaaannnn...

    I hate when that happens....

Over the yrs I have learned that Mr Murphy and his annoying law is as consistent as gravity in these matters.
If it aint my designated workplace and it's not a remodel job, I aint going there...I just cant afford it!
