Good Day to the Creek!

I am finally in the last stages of getting another one one my projects that got a little out of hand.
Our basement was unfinished and in mid Feb. and I decided to clean it up and build a few walls. In the process it was decided to move our TV room from the second floor family room and build a proper home theater room in the basement.

I thought to cut down on the heat from equipment and noise it would be best to not have it in the room. So at the bottom of the stairs the equipment was built into the wall. Access is from the room behind.

As the hunt went on for the kind of speakers we opted for Audio Monitors.
My wife Geri loved the sound and I loved the rosewood cabinets...

To get a neat effect with the sconces I roughed in the electrical boxes 3/4" proud from the wall and then used MDF to give me a 3/4" reveal to make a shadow. Really gives the room a theater look.

Seating for 6 and a mini recliner for our grandson.
On the back wall and the beams I made acoustic panels to absorb the sound.
Filled with quilting material and covered with cloth they really do a good job.
Ceiling is black acoustic tile that also helps with the sound.

And lastly a couple of pics from the back.
110 inch screen and enough sound to shake the room....
