    Having 50amps available isn't an issue at all. The breaker protects the wire, not the tool. The saw will only use what it needs. Unless there's another need that makes splitting the circuit with a sub-panel, the cost to add it may not be justified. That said, since the existing 50m circuit is four wire, that does offer the opportunity to do a sub if the OP wants/needs more than one simultaneous 240v circuit, such as if he also wants to run a 240v DC.

    make sure to put a wirenut on the unused white wire. You do not want it touching a hot terminal and causing a short circuit.
