Hello All, just finished one of two of this table we'll be using as nightstands. Pomelle bubinga veneer with dyed maple legs. The figure of the veneer is a little overwhelming so I tried to keep it simple.
Let me know what you all think.

Stunning Jay. I like the surprise at the bottom of the drawer.
I don't think "simple" describes it, though. I'd choose "elegant".
It’s only work if somebody makes you do it.
A day can really slip by when you're deliberately avoiding what you're supposed to do.
Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side and it binds the universe together.
Very striking!
Beautiful bubinga veneer Jay.
Nice work on this one. And as Brian said, not many drawers with bottoms like that...
Is there going to be a head board with the same theme?
Great looking project. Sometimes it's the simple designs that are the hardest to get right. You did a superb job along with excellent material and color selection.
Nice table! I'm a sucker for Birds Eye.
Oh, and nice Table saw!!
Jay - that is outstanding in every way, nicely done. I love bubinga - especially the figured stuff.
Is that your shop floor the pic was taken on? WAY too clean if so.
Excellent execution on an excellent design.
Very striking! Can you describe the dye you used?
That came out great. You are right to have kept the shape simple and let the bubinga do the talking. BTW, what is your jointer doing in your kitchen .
P.s. The link to your homepage seems to be broken.

Really eye-catching work. What kind of substrate did you use?? Thanks.
I think it looks dang nice. Like it was said, simple designs are the hardest to do sometimes.
I think you did a good job of balancing the strong bubinga pattern with a simpler design. This lets the bubinga really show on the piece without letting it be overwhelming.
Nice work.

Thanks everyone
The substrate is baltic birch ply.
The legs were stained with General Finishes ebony dye and then a black pigmented stain on top of that.
Not my shop floor or my jointer, the pics were taken at Woodcraft. Although my floor is very similar it has never been that clean.
On the matching table I'll be using cherry for the drawer box and some redwood burl for the bottom. Should be way cool.
