    Dust Deputy fittings

Is anyone running a Dust Deputy on a big Ridged shop vac?
If so where did you find the adapter for the hoses?
I can just rig it up but if there is a adapter I would just as soon buy it.

I'm not sure waht you mean by the big Ridgid vac. I have mine hooked to a Sears vac. See this link for some fittings I ordered from Rockler.

The new ones are sized to fit standard vacuum hoses. I think they stole that idea from ClearVue.

Anyway I have the older metal version and I used one of these to connect the vacuum. Ended up buying an Oneida hose to connect to tools.

I run a large Ridgid and a DD. I used the the business end of the standard short Ridgid hose (where a nozzle or other attachment would go) to slip right onto the top fitting of the DD to provide the suck. I used the hose and fittings that come with the DD connect a second Ridgid vac-hose (25 footer) and then to the wand or a whip for my sanders, routers, etc.

Rusty, I just bought one of the Rigid extra hoses (the deluxe one that comes with several choices for the ends) - one choice is the "big" end that fits the vac inlet of the Rigid.

I also found that you get less clogs at the cyclone inlet if you cut off the smaller portion of the inlet and chamfer the inside lip - this is if you're using a standard shop vac hose at the cyclone inlet... Steve

How disappointing; I was looking for the link to the 25' hose I bought direct from Ridgid about 5 years ago so I could post you a link. They no longer carry this and a 10' seems to be the longest they have now.

I just hooked my ridgid vac up to a DD. I just pulled the connector off of the ridgid hose and swapped it for the one that was on the end of the Dust Deputy hose. They're not that bad to remove and they match up perfectly. Just pull and sqeeze at the same time. No adaptors needed.
