"He who saves one life, saves the world entire"
congratulations, they are very nice
how do you do that?
14x48 custom 2hp 9gear lathe
9 inch pre 1940 craftsman lathe
36 inch 1914 Sydney bandsaw (BEAST)
Wood in every shelf and nook and cranny,,, seriously too much wood!
How do you do that??? I've never seen a wobble on a lathe that extreme!
Dave
Nothing is idiot-proof for a sufficiently ingenious idiot!
WOW! I love both, but I would pick the box elder 2:1 - just striking!! You have to reveal the secret to this!!
I am in NO WAY a dye person but I have to agree with John and vote for the box elder.
Cool effect.
I bet that cherry one was a PIA to do!!

Both are fantastic pieces. I saw your post on AAW a few days ago and still find myself wondering how you did that with a router and jig!...Bill..
Both are beauties. Congrats on the cherry one.

Never put off until tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone and a funnybone.
Very nice. I saw these on the AAW site and even clicked on both to check them out. Great effect.
Very cool... Waiting on the tutorial!
Congratulations. I too would like a little insight as to how these were done. Two very nice & intriguing turnings.
I'm not sure how it's done but I have an idea.I think that when the outside part is formed and the inside is gutted out that it is taken partly out of the chuck on one side and run at a slow RPM to get the wobble effect. I think that would create the ridge around the side.Am I right? It works in my mind anyway.

Very cool! and congrats on the AAW cover.
Very nice! Can't wait to hear how you did these. I think I like the box elder better, but both are special.
