    46-460 Reverse

I have encountered the reverse not working sometimes after running it in forward for a long period. It works on it's own after tripping the switch a couple of times. Has anyone else had this occur and do you know the cause. Should we be worried......lathe is only 5 months old.

I am betting dust in the switch. Try blowing it out with compressed air.

    Slow down

I have experienced it. It seems to occur only when you do not let the motor wind completely down before changing the switch. If I don't get in to big of a hurry it don't happen.

My guess is dust in the switch. Take the 4 screws out then pull off the top cover to get at the switch. The switch you move on the cover actually operates the real switch below that.

I have noticed what Bill said. If you move the switch and flip the power back on before the motor has had time to stop it did not start. Has only happen once or twice.

Maybe it's a safety feature to protect the turner and the motor???
