    Robust lookalike Part 2

    I have finished the 12" toolrest. The point about the hardness of the drill rod is well taken, but as this is an inexpensive experiment, I will give it a test and see how it runs. I painted it with black Rustoleum, and will do the 2 shorter versions later. Unlike most other Creeksters , I am impatient and excited for the trial run.
    If this idea has merit, and harder rod would be required, then I would probably buy the hardened rod on line even though I have oxy-acetylene, a welder, oil, water, and an adventuresome spirit. Thanks for all of the interest and comments. The inspiration and experience gained from being a Creek member is priceless.
