    CorelDraw Print Merge Tip

I've been pulling my hair out all afternoon with a print merge problem. Some of the merge text was fairly long, up to 17 characters. The placeholder was centered text. The left and right sides of the longer text would disappear on the merged document. The placeholder was the only thing on the document. The placeholder I had was <Name>. When I changed that to <bighonkinlongname> it merged as it should.

Shaddy. Did you write the SerialNamer print merge macro? I've been using it a lot lately and I love it. Thanks.

    Shaddy,
Great to see you're alive! Been a long time since we've seen a post from you.

I know your program uses Paragraph Text, but Corel's PrintMerge has always had the problem of truncating names longer than the placeholder on the leftmost and rightmost column.

For those who haven't tried it, Shaddy's program reduces the text till it fits!

hehe, hi. Ya, i don't laser too much any more, my 17 month old (and work) is keeping me busy enough. I still keep it in shape by making presents for family or things for me, but just not things for sale for a while.

    see ya round.

Sorry to divert your thread Bill. But i hope Roy answered your question.
