A retail store/2 apartment building on my town's main street burned this week... a total loss despite the fact that our fire dept. is on the same block. Poof! 100 hundred years old and a fixture on Main Street. Everyone got out alive thank God, but a 70+ yo widow lost a lifetime of possessions.

They determined that a space heater was left on over night in the store and it started the fire in the wee hours.

Let's all be mindful of these little marvels as we heat our homes and shops.

Each time we change our clocks I post a reminder to go around the shop for an hour inspecting for worn belts, loose nuts and bolts.... it's never the wrong time to toss/replace something you can't absolutely trust with your live.
