Turned my first pen Thursday, it's soldier bound.

I turned my first ever pen on Thursday (Veteran's Day) at a Woodcraft function. They were turning pens for troops, and since i've been interested in pen turning for sometime, i figured it was a good to jump in. The wife and I made the 100 mile trek to Roanoke, and we had quite a bit of fun. The guys there were as nice as anyone you'd ever want to meet.

I also purchased a mini lathe, tools, and accessories, as well as a few pen kits. I've made 6 more pens so far, and it's addictive..... man is it ever....

Feel free to chime in with advice on do's or don'ts, preferred finishes, etc., and pictures of completed pens would be great for inspiration.

    Kevin,

Congratulations on your first pen and thanks for remembering those who serve.
