First of all Thanks to Mike Henderson for the great tutorials on carving.

I have carved a shell for a lowboy project before (last year). That took two practice runs before I was satisfied. This time I followed Mikes instructions for the complex shell. This still has a ways to go, but so far this took about 2 hours of nice quite relaxation.

I have a limited collection of chisels, but will be adding to them soon.

That is wonderful! I'm hoping to tackle his square flower tutorial this weekend, then I'm on the the shells.

2010's New Year's Resolution: at least five hours of carving a week.
