"Solar Comfort" Heater for garage warmth?

Was looking at heaters today and checking out a electric "Solar Comfort" model. Uses 4 Unfiltered 375 Watt Infra-red lamps with 120 CFM fan. Lamps heat a heat exchanger which looks to be a metal plate with multiple rows of tubing. Has anyone experience with this heater and it's performance in a insulated garage?

Hi Mac, all electric heaters are 100% efficient, so any heater of the same wattage will produce exactly the same amount of heat.

I find that in my single car garage shop, a fan forced heater provides the best circulation of heat through the garage.

    I use a 4,800 watt heater.............Regards, Rod.

    Rod,
Thanks for the info, so no free lunch here huh....

I'm presently looking for a LP gas powered wall furnace. Basic units put out about 15K BTU which should be fine for my needs. I think these were put in mobile homes, apartments, etc

If at first you don't succeed, look in the trash for the instructions.

Be aware that the cheaper ones don't have a fan in them.
Williams furnaces seem to be the major player in wall mounted.
Never, under any circumstances, consume a laxative and sleeping pill, on the same night

    Jim,

I think your question was perhaps meant for me, if it was.......

Space is 22' x 22', it's insulated with FG batts on walls with 1/4" pegboard panelling and drywall ceiling with FG batts.

    Myk,

Thanks for the info. Checked with a wholesaler yesterday and 35K BTU Wall unit w/ fan is around $1200.00 although he said you could pickup used ones for $100-200.00 or less.
