    First Bowl - Figured Maple

My brother and I finished our first bowl today. Team turning!

It is a 5 x 2 1/2" bowl sanded to 600 then finished with EEE-Ultra Shine and Shellawax Cream.

The figured maple blank was purchased at Rockler.

Our lathe is a Jet 1236 with a OneWay Talon chuck and #2 jaws.

Comments, critiques, and constructive advice are welcomed!

That looks like a nice one. Now since it was a joint effort, who gets to keep the bowl?

We're partners in a construction company so we'll either put it in the office and share it like good siblings or give it to our Mom and eventually fight over the inheritance!

Looks pretty functional. Nice piece of maple. This time of year perhaps full of Christmas Candy or cookies would be even better.

Pretty wood! Interesting form - sort of a double ogee. Be sure to place this where lots of folks can appreciate it! Looking forward to seeing bowl #2!

If truth be told, this was the first thing I have ever turned. My brother turned a Freedom pen at Rockler a couple of years ago.
