    Walnut Hollow Form

Here is a Walnut H.F. done this month. 8" high and 4 1/2" at widest point. Finish is antique oil and buffed. Hollowed with Monster system. Comments welcomed! G

    George,
You have the piece nicely finished. Most folks would suggest that the widest part of the turning should be approx. 1/3 the height from either the top or the bottom, but never in the middle. On the plus side the piece seems to have a continuous smooth curvature with no flat spots. That can sometimes be rather difficult to achieve. I roll a straight steel rule along the profile of the work and any place it will not roll smoothly is a flat spot. Had to repeat some finish cuts on a piece this afternoon to fix that very problem.

Good work but I don't like the form.
well depending on the way I would travel, I'm roughly 2,340 miles to 2,529 miles away from the infamous STEVE SCHLUMPF!!!!
