    Question FWW article? Help remembering

Does anybody remember which issue of FWW or Woodwork a photograph and caption appeared of a project that made use of violin or viola pegs as drawer and door pulls?

I've been searching my stacks and have come up empty so far. This is the problem when one has years of accumulated magazines. Great information in all, but it's only relatively easy to find the major stories. Tough to find the sidelights. I even checked Taunton's site regarding the pictures of users work, and noticed that not every photo that appeared in print is on the website. Too bad. There's been some truly amazing work. And regarding that, it'd be great to have some contact information if one would like to talk to the maker about it.

Not that this helps you much, but I remember that photo as well. I'll try taking a look through my back issues. I'm thinking it was back 1 1/2 to 2 years.

    John,

Try "Methods of Work," June 1991, page 22.

No photograph, just a line drawing. It lists the contributor as John Kodis, Pasadena, MD.

I guess my public must be pretty huge then.

Have you got a memory or what! Yes, indeed, the violin peg reference is there too.

However, I found the one I was thinking about 1/2 hour prior to opening my email and seeing your reply. The one I was thinking of is in issue 157, August 2002, page 86 in "Current Work" It's a great looking chest of drawers with a top "floating" about the body of the case. Viola pegs are used as the drawer pulls.

I gotta lay in a supply of these things. They look so cool.

    More like "or what."

I have the FWW CD, so I just ran a search for "violin."

When I found the reference I figured that must be it, so I stopped looking before I got to "viola," otherwise I probably would have found that one as well. Now that you've got my curiosity up, I'm going to look for it. Sounds neat!
