"Custom Deluxe Simulated Wood Grain" bench top carving chisel cabinet

(Didn’t quite know which forum to post this on but….)

How’d ya’ll like my new "Custom Deluxe Simulated Wood Grain" bench top carving chisel cabinet?!

I was in need of a storage solution for some recently acquired carving chisels (and some I already had) and was planning to build a two tiered, lazy Susan turntable type holder like I’ve seen some carvers do. (I still might!)

Well, long story short….I was visiting my mother the other day and she was in the process of cleaning out a closet. (She 93 and still spry as ever!)

There on the floor of the closet, in the corner, still in the box (unopened) sat this 3 drawer desktop organizer thing, that she said she bought years ago but never got around to putting it together….

When I saw it the ole light bulb in my head went off and I asked her if I could have it!

So….I assembled it (screws AND glue AND dowels) cut some rubberized shelf mat, and started filling it with chisels!

    First drawer….

    Second drawer….

Looks like it was made for that spot, don’t it?
