Congrats on the lathe! I know many do not like the reeves drive but mine has been trouble free for 2 years now. Good solid machine...Bill...
How could I pass up the price??????They're selling the 1014 regular on craigslist here for $300 to $350.
Now what is a reeves drive again, something about how the belts change inthe variable speed operation?
Congrats on your new lathe Brian! I've always heard that the 1442 were good lathes! Hope you aer able to pick it up soon! Have fun with it - and be safe!

Congrats on the new lathe, 500$ is definitely a good deal. Chico is damn far though, i guess Torrance is out of the picture.
Congrats on the lathe. Will be nice to be turning again.

Never put off until tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone and a funnybone.
actually I'm up in the air about chico, since my parents owe me money and now refuse to pay me.....so torrance is back!!!!!! Let's consider a black walnut trip. I'll be around and I can't wait to get turning again.....I've been losing it on a regular basis since no lathe.
Come on up to Chico, the weather's great. Musta cooled down, can't be over 105 today!
Congrats on the new to you lathe.
