    2 boring birch bowls

.......finally finishing up some of those crotch pieces I roughed out last winter. Both finished with BLO, no buff. I have an "art festival" in a couple weeks and want a variety of finishes......

First piece is my Jeff Bower imitation....about 8" wide.

This wingy dingy is about 15" long, wings are 3/8"thick.

So blast away with the comments, critiques, and general "smart" comments!

    You Should Be In Sales!

I ALMOST didn't bother to look (who wants to see boring?) - but I'm glad that I did.
These are BEAUTIFUL, nice wood, nice shape and the finish looks good too.

I like them alot. I like the soft edges on the winged bowl especially.
I could cry for the time I've wasted, but thats a waste of time and tears.

Barry - nice work on both of these! I am sure Jeff would like to see that first one about twice as thick - but it sure looks good to me! Beautiful wood!

Really like the winged bowl! Did real good capturing the feathering!

Finish works well at highlighting the character of the grain without having to fight gloss to see it! Wish you luck with your upcoming Art Festival! Be sure to let us know how you do with it!

Barry I don't know what is boring about them. Those are beauties. Really nice wood, form and finish.

    Barry,

If either of them get too boring, I'll Pm you my home address and will repay you for shipping.

I like both of them. The wood is gorgeous!

Thanks folks, you are too kind

I'm not sure about the thick bowl and think I shoulda went thinner on the wings of the other. The wood itself is pretty nice stuff..the tree was dying while standing so there is a little spalt in there as well..and I've got a bunch......
