    New Galbert Caliper

Anyone tried the Galbert Caliper yet? As a collector of gadgets that measure, this hits my sweet spot.

His blog is very interesting too.

Looks pretty cool but a little pricey for me.

I bought one and think it's awesome! Now, for many items, I can simply use just one measuring device and sneak up on the correct diameter. I highly recommend it for all types of spindle work.

Looks very handy, but is pricy. Some things I make require having four sets of calipers. Guess that is also pricy. I may have to look at this harder.

I havent tried it, but it looks simple to make. Calibration would be the hardest part, but a selection of dowels should make that easy too.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Going to put it on my birthday list. I'm hard to buy for.

That's why I bought mine: I was looking at an eBay auction that was going to be $40-50 for four regular calipers. BTW, here's the link: http://www.petergalbertchairmaker.com/caliper.html
