    Toy Box Completed

Here is an oak toy box that I just completed for a friend. The inside of the box is baltic birch. Its finished with stain and 3 coats of lacquer. I also put a friction hinge on the lid so little fingers don't get crunched.

Nice box...they don't make them like that anymore. I had a similar one when I was a kid.

Very nicely built. Reminds me I need to get one moving on my agenda when I finish a current project.

Nice job. Is that shop built car siding on the outside?

Yes. I ended up resawing some oak and cut them into the strips. I then made rabbets on the table saw, and slid the pieces together.
I thought you could buy something like that in a sheet good, but I couldn't find anything like that around here. It actually didn't take me as long as I thought it might.

My olive green one did not look that nice when I was a kid.
