My finest score ever on woods.

I made a trade for this little load of woods. The veneers so far have been curly anegre, curly maple, quilted maple, burl oak (10-16sq ft sheets) waterfall bubinga by the roll of 9 pieces, Burl walnut. Lots of birdseye maple(at least 3 sheets), a wood that looks like birdseye but it's a silver color(3-4x8 ft sheets). and the most beautiful Koa I've ever seen. A lot of this has a wood backing.

Here's the Koa with some veneer softener on it. This wood was all purchased at an auction when Gates Leer Jet was in business here. It was used for private jets. All great quality and calling me out. If you want me..............I'll be in the shop.

Some gold jewelry that was in a box for years and some cash. The man I got it from is a great guy. His work is absolutely amazing. He's been a wood worker for 35 years. This was in his way in his shop and he wanted the space back. He really wanted me to have it because of my enthusiasm. I walked into his shop and almost fell on my face. I was inspired that moment. He took me in his house and showed me some of his work. Lowboys, Highboys, a mantel, jewelry box, kitchen and more. All done to perfection and the most beautiful woods. It was like being in the Smithsonian Museum. What a generous guy. There's even more that I didn't post pics of too. He knew what he had and still gave me the deal. He was most generous for sure. If you're out there, THANKS MIKE

Great score Bill! I cant wait to see what you do with some of it. By the way should you find all that stuff is now getting in your way and you want to get rid of it............
If at first you don't succeed, look in the trash for the instructions.

    Bill,

You do know how to veneer don't you? If not, you should get a vacuum press and start practicing with the lesser grade material first.

If possible get the rolls flat and under some MDF or something to protect and keep them flat. If you have to stack several species together, use tags that stick out with size, sheet count and specie.

That silver kind of swirly veneer in the roll is what they call recomposed. Basically it's made to look like that using a very plain common wood.

    Congrats on a great haul.
