Matching Donations for the Freedom Pens Project

As you can see from Ken's update of the FPP funds in a previous post, the need for additional donations is becoming critical. It is imperative that we continue the momentum until we can get nonprofit status established. To all of you turners who continue to donate your time, skills and materials; THANK YOU. I read your posts and am completely overwhelmed with your skills and dedication. The FPP would be nowhere without you. Also, to those who have already donated time, materials and money; a big thanks to you. Your efforts have allowed the project to expand many fold.

Over the holiday weekend I was thinking about how the FPP has touched so many lives. Both those serving our country and those who are safe here at home. It has been such a blessing to me to read the letters from those patriots who have received pens, and to know that I had some small part in making that happen through donating money to the project. I know many of you feel the same.

To those of you have been putting off donating money...NOW IS THE TIME. If everyone who reads this could just donate $5 or $10, what a difference that would make in the lives of our men and women serving far away from home and family. How often do any of us get the opportunity to have such a profound impact on so many lives?

So, beginning with this post I am offering to match your donations dollar for dollar, up to a grand total of $2000. Your donation of $5 will become $10. $25 becomes $50. You get the picture. I'll match your donations in four stages of $500 (as your combined donations reaches $500 I'll donate $500), up to the limit. Matching funds are for individual donations only. Funds collected at TATs or other events are not eligible. I hope you understand that I am doing this in order to get individuals to consider donating.

    Here is the process:

    1) Either respond to this post or PM me with the amount you donated. No amount is too small. I'll keep a list of donor and donation amount.
    2) When the amount reaches the first $500.00 plateau I will email Ken the list to verify the donations were made.
    3) After verification I'll match the donations.

More information on the Freedom Pens Project is here: http://www.freedompens.org

How to submit donations can be found here

So come on, who's going to be the first to donate? The second? The hundredth?

Waymon, yet another awesome gesture on your part! I've been so dern busy with house projects, the screams from my lathe have gone to deaf ears. Just not enough hours in the day. So, to try and, at least, keep other folks in project material, I'll kick in $10.00 towards the effort. Thanks for your continued generosity!
    Cheers,

Bruce - I had originally posted that I would match the $150.00 you mentioned but have subsequently found that those funds were donated during an event. My purpose in offering the "matching funds" was to hopefully encourage those individuals who had not donated yet to consider it. I in no way wish to discourage funds coming in from TATs and other events, but merely state that my effort here is for individuals only. I hope you understand...and thanks for your continued support.

We are now at $190.00 donated to this great cause.

So, who wants to be next??
