    Bed Complete

Just finished this bed for my 9 year old daughter. All white oak with a dye/gel stain/poly finish. This took about 3 months to complete but it was well worth it, she loves it.

    Any critiques are welcome.

    Thanks for looking

Very nice and I see the animals love it
It’s only work if somebody makes you do it.
A day can really slip by when you're deliberately avoiding what you're supposed to do.

Hey, that looks familiar. Is that a modified version of the Woodsmith plan? I love that bed. I built one a number of years ago. You did a great job with it, regardless. The cherry looks good! You daughter is blessed to have it that good.

    Thanks

The animals where the first to move in, I think that was the best part for my daughter.

I used features of several beds, but I borowed heavily from the woodsmith plan. I did not do the slats the way they did and the caps a slightly different.

It is actually Oak though it does resemble cherry in the picture. In person it is darker than cherry and the gel stain highlights the grain much more than the picture shows.

Chuck, right! Sorry about that. I read that it was oak, but I had in my mind that it looked like cherry. I noticed that you didn't put the curve in like the Woodsmith plans, that's why I figured you modified it. Again, great job.
