I have a chance to expand my offerings and pick up a used 24" roland pnc-950 cutter.
Looking at some past posts roland seems like a good machine.
Sure would like to hear what others have to say about it.
Thanks
Paul

I've never owned a Roland myself, but know others that have, and have looked at them when considering a new plotter. I consider them to be a good entry level production machine. That is, running a few hours a day it should last a long time, but probably not up to running 8-10 hours a day for a long time. For any used plotter the first things to go are the cut head (tool transport) and the lever(s) that are used to hold and release the vinyl to/from the pinch rollers. If the levers hold tight and show no signs of stress or cracking you should be OK, but handle them gently. The only way to test the head is to try jiggling the knife, there should be no free play. The best thing is to have the seller run some .5" times new roman letters and some .25" helvetica or similar non-serif, and see how it looks and weeds.
Plotters tend to cost more to fix than they are worth.
