No. I would not do this. As well as the reasons above you need to walk around that end of the saw to pick up wood that you have just cut and this vise will be in the way.
You'll be leaning in way...
The fence on your saw is not one I enjoyed using years back. As far as I remember it tightens against the round rail on both ends of the table, and was impossible to keep square.
I have a Vega disc/belt sander that came with a built in dust collector.
Here's a photo of it the day I got it.

Thanks for re-posting the pictures, Glenn. I like the support tongue, think I'll steal that idea.
Yes, though I'm glad I'm not doing it.
Derek, you wrapped blue tape around the tops of the legs to guide the cut - how did you know the line to mark?
Seems like this would be very difficult to get right. The template use used helped but...
That is a dream machine.
The vibration issue - yes - this thread is about sorting out the vibration issue.
My time to work on the machine is sporadic and I'll update the thread when I have something interesting to...
Mike, this is an older saw that I've been restoring, for a couple of years. I finally got the time to get it over the line so I just recently got it running.
I'll look now for that rubber matting....
"Take the blade off and spin the top wheel. If the vibration is really that bad, the heavy spot in the wheel will always end up on the bottom. Mark that spot and spin a few more times. If that spot...
I don't know what the terms static and dynamic balancing mean, and I spent about ten minutes trying to get an understanding from googling the terms, but am none the wiser. Most search results come...
John, the saw runs without any vibration without the blade being installed.
The bearings are new, the wheels are all balanced, and I think they are not out of whack on any axis - but I'll have to...
My 32" Centauro ST 800 band saw vibrates like crazy, and I'm thinking of bolting it to the concrete floor.
The wheels are balanced, they have max 10/1000" run-out on the edge of the rim, just a few...
Beautiful work. If I was twenty years old again I'd love to do this.

William, I would use it primarily to pattern route chair parts.
I have been using the 2" spiral bit from William Ng. If this bit is resharpened the cutter is now not as wide as the bearing. The bit...
Thanks for your feedback, everyone.
I'll stick to spiral router bits.
Has anyone tried this router bit?

The website selling this bit is called findbuytool.com
Has anyone used them? Are they reputable?
The website does not give a brand / maker. The cutter...
Lost for good? I was intrigued and am left wondering!
Richard, you're right, I ought to have said I'm looking for a re-saw blade about 30mm wide.
Thanks Andrew, I'll call Kairos Tooling tomorrow.
Industrial Blade in Santa Ana has also been suggested,...
Anyone have a good reliable source for large band saw blades in SoCal?
Or is online better?
In case it matters to your answer the blade will be 18' long, for resawing.
thanks, Mark
I saw a short video, maybe on this forum, can't remember, in which they used a Sawzall blade on an angle and pulled it across the surface of the board to distress it.
They got a pattern similar to...
Good to know, thanks. Seems it might be of more use on a job site than in a shop.
I got this clamp guide amongst a bunch of regular guides.
I don't know what it's designed to do, or how it should be used. Hopefully the pictures are clear - it is the same thing back to front.
...
Dan, I need just the bare contactor.
Thanks for the recommends people. I'll go to my local electrical supply and see if they have a Square D or another of similar quality.
