You mentioned you wanted something faster than the jam chuck method currently used. How fast is faster?
Yes your spindle thread is an M33 thread.
Here is the manual....

I’m sure you are going to like your 1642. I’ve had mine since 2003, it gets used daily and has served me well. Enjoy!
Try here for “Cubitron” products:...
Pull the potentiometer and you should see a part number on it. Go to E-Bay and search the part number. You should get a hit or hits.
I think any type of vacuum pump benefits when any source of wood dust could be ingested.
The Gast pumps discussed in this thread are dry vane oil less pumps.
I have an auto fuel filter attached to my bleed valve.
Take a look at the Metabo SX E 400...
The Jet 1642 is an excellent lathe. I bought mine 15 years ago and have used it 5 days a week since then. If well maintained you should expect it to be very reliable.
Have you checked both SAE and Metric threading?
Glue them in and hand wash only works also.
What Kevin said!
I think the darker rings you are referring to are caused by sanding while the lathe is running. This can be fixed by turning the lathe off and hand sanding laterally (headstock to tailstock) with...

I use a 20 gauge brass bore brush.
Richard,
I was responding to the OP’s post #10 about getting chatter when hollowing deeper than 8”-9”.
I do use a steady when going deeper than 10”-12”.
I have a Jamieson rig also. For hollowing deeper than 9”-10” I use a 1 1/4” boring bar. This eliminates the chatter.
468317I have mine set up for 110, works well. I mounted the set up on a cheap dolly so I could move it if need be.

I was responding to the OP’s question about a specific Gast brand vacuum pump used by Oneway. Gast makes both oil less and oiled pumps. The 0522 and 0523 are the dry vane oil less...
I’m pretty sure the 0523 is the successor. The pump needs to be a dry rotary vane model. Should be rated to operate at 4-5 CFM. They come as either 115volt or 220volt.
I don’t know Oneway model number is but I bought a used Gast model #0522 on E-Bay for $230.00. It has been running trouble free for 11 years. Gast pumps are pretty bulletproof. If need be a rebuild...
When I use 1” and larger Forstner bits I keep lathe at or below 300 rpm and back the bit out every 1/2”. Anything faster causes heat build up. This also clears chips. I don’t feed the bit into the...
Before calling the gas company I’d close the door for a couple of days so when they open it, they can smell the odor.
